we were disappointed
we cried
we cried like a bunch of babies

we cried
not because we didn't practice enough
not because we screwed up during that 10 mins
but because of the results the judges gave us

10 months
we worked hard
for the big day

what we gained from this 10months long journey,
he judges weren't here with us,
they don't know.
they didn't know how much effort we put in for this SYF,
they didn't know how much we enjoyed the pieces we played,
they didn't appreciate the music we played.
BUT WE KNOW, we have played our hearts out.
WE KNOW, we are an ensemble, together.
we are beyond gold with honours

the judges, from Australia, UK, Canada, whatsoever
they judged us based on that skinny winny pieces of paper.based on that set of rubrics

like what sze said,
we are a ensemble
the most important of all is the ensemble ship and the togetherness
not how many diploma players we have
and i think the judges ought to know that

during the dialogue session, the judges say that our standards were very high, then why don't the results show that? they said that although we played our pieces were fast, and we played with enthusiasm and energy. AND because our pieces were fast, put the sound quality and production cannot be shown. SO what caused us our honours were the pieces we chose?

okay no more complaining
the decisions of the judges are final
there is nothin we can do about it

recounting :

(long post, will try to keep it short)
supposed to sleep at 8the night b4.
but was doing notes for viola section
and clever clever me bought chocs for violists
and forgot to bring on 29th
they are still in the fridge
second time le
bought chocs for everyone on valentine’s day
left it in the fridge and forgot to bring:[

slept at ard 9+ that day
woke up and found myself 10mins later than the time i wanted to wake up><
quickly changed, helped ma with breakfast, called sleepy siblings to wake up
no time to do hair and makeup yet and off i go

ma helped me with makeup in the car
but it was a rather bumpy ride
so we took sometime
anyhow tied my hair and went up to toilet nearest to m4
yixuan and some others were there
changed into gown
tied hair
ran into m4
wear court shoes
get viola ready
and poof! sze was here
time for rehearsal...

helped zhermin and kaiyun with their hair
borrowed silver eye shadow from tky
blah blah blah
before i know that happen
i was at the foyer waiting for the bus to arrive
took random photos at the foyer
more hugs and encouragements
blah blah blah
buds come
board bus
sang in the bus
reached RPCC

then the nervous thingum suddenly came
some schools were there
took out instruments
prepared
while waiting outside tuning room
i could feel the butterflies in mua fat stomach
it wasn't a nice feeling
finally went inside the silver tuning room
tuned in 1min and 20 sec
sze was happy
and rehearsed
watched sze command his PA around
poor guy

finished tuning
off to backstage
ACSI was there
i dunno why
i was very nervous
but my mouth was smiling
listened to dunman sec play
criticised a bit:P
removed my shoes coz my feet hurts
ACSI's turn
we're next
listened to them play
there were good

i didn't screw up
i was smiling like a idiot

i knew we were good
in high spirits all the way back to ny

after debrief went back up to class with wj and shell
physics then
mrs wong and many peepo came out to see us><
collected homework
when m4 to put stuff
went canteen to have lunch
sat with a whole group of NYSE peeps
went fp with shell
back to m4
collected valuables
and off we go for results

dun feel like adding in what happened during results
all i can say and remember is we cried><

no matter what our results were
no matter what we got
we are still NYSE
and i'm proud to be under sze:D
